Llandegfan FC

Llandegfan FC was restarted this season and play at the pitch on the back lane from the top of Cichle Hill to the Church. The team have had a memorable first season and are looking to build on their progress for next season.

⚽️ CLUB STATEMENT ⚽️

As manager of Llandegfan fc, I would like to thank the community, club and the players for all your hard work for this season.

The season is now over for Llandegfan, and it’s been a mixture of highs and lows for us. Last year we gathered a group of young players to join the club. Many of these players had never played adult football. Many of these players stayed at home on weekends and played video games and didn’t interact with many people. Now, these players have grown in confidence and grown a passion for football. It amazing to see how far some of my players have come on since starting with us.

We are disappointed that we have suffered some huge losses! However, when myself, jordan Love and dale rowlands, formed this club last year, our objective was to bring football back to the village. Regardless of the wins or losses.... We wanted to give young lads a chance to play football. Speaking from experience it’s very hard these days to get into teams if you want to get into playing football for the first time or if you haven’t played in a while.

I’ve experienced it in my time playing football aswell as others I’ve spoke to... in some teams, if your not up to standard, you get put on the lines as a linesman for the whole game or you only come on to the pitch the last 5 minutes after turning up to trainings and matches every time... We wanted to change this and give everyone the chance to play in cup and league matches and help them get that game time confidence that’s so important.

Some of you would have seen or heard the struggles the club faced due to vandalism at our changing rooms. We have worked hard day and night to get them to a standard where we can use them. The field has come a very long way since we began. We are very proud of how the field and changing rooms have come along since the first day we were given the keys to the club.

Please join us on the 12th May, where we will hand out trophies and medals to players during our first presentation evening. (Details on this page)

I would once again like to thank everyone who has been involved in the start up of Llandegfan fc, and also to Dewi Williams at Llangoed FC , and Kev Arriva for all the help, and the advise you have given our club this season.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 12th May, for our first presentation evening. I’m so so proud of all my players and club staff that have helped out over the season with the club, the field and other bits and bobs! I’m especially proud at my lads, who turn up week in week out despite the heavy losses and defeats.

Llandegfan FC will be back.

* MATCH REPORT *

Llandegfan 6 - 2 Pentraeth Reserves

With the weather today showing to be more promising than last week, Llandegfan went into this game determined for the win and would fight to get it.

Pentraeth took the lead in the first 10, however a goal from ashley Jones put us back level. We then secured a second goal after receiving a penalty and Llandegfans legendary goalkeeper “The Monk” stepped up and put it away nicely. Pentraeth equalised and the game was on! Pentraeth’s goalkeeper then got injured and was replaced by a sub. Llandegfan took full advantage of this with player manager Jordan Love getting the third by lobbing the goalkeeper, followed by a beautiful shot by Ryan Hughes. Player manager Jordan Love then secured his second of the day, followed by another beautifully executed lob over pentraeths goalkeeper.

Brilliant game today, Llandegfan fully deserved it, however Pentraeth did but in some nail biting shots towards the end.

On to the next round in the cup!

COME ON LLANDEG!!!

** CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT **

Llandegfan only have a small number of games remaining of this season, therefore we begin to plan and prepare for our very first presentation evening. We are looking for venues and also businesses that would like to help donate trophies and support the evening as a whole. It has been a difficult season for the team, but we are proud that we have managed to form a team and also partly restore the field at Lon Ty Newydd into a playable field. We look to you, our community and locals for Any help, it would be massively appreciated. We also seek sponsors for the next season, this includes an away kit, match balls, training equipment. Thank you everybody for your continued support.

Just received a message from Fran.

Hi.
Please can you help? I am trying to get Llandegfan community to come to get a public access defibrillator for the area. It would certainly benefit the fun run to have one nearby. All we need to do is go out and take ‘selfies’ by defibrillators and then tweet them to Welsh Ambulance throughout February. I did this competition last year with Penrhyn parkrun and we won - we took about 100 photos between us. I have set up a Twitter page to co- ordinate tweets. All I need is people to help. Please Can you spread the word and take photos please? Here’s the twitter link
